Connecticut General Liability Insurance
Business owners are responsible for protecting the safety of their employees and their clients. We can help.

Whether you are a landscape contractor, hair stylist, or main street retailer, every business has a significant liability exposure from the moment they open for business. Commercial General Liability coverage is the cornerstone of coverage for effectively transferring your liability risk to an insurance company.
The typical General Liability policy includes several basic coverages, but can also be endorsed with additional coverages to meet the needs of any particular business.
Coverage Provided
• Bodily Injury Liability – This coverage will pay up to the limit you select if you or your business is found liable for injuries to a third party. An additional coverage found in this section is coverage for defense costs.
• Property Damage – The property damage coverage pays when you or your business is found liable for damage to a third party’s property.
• Personal Injury – Personal Injury coverage is triggered and pays if you or your business is found liable for slander, libel, and false arrest.
• Premises Liability – The premises liability coverage protects you and your business if you are found liable for causing damage to premises such as a warehouse, office, or retail space rented by your business.
Additional Coverage
Different industries present different risks, and there are additional coverages that can be added to your general liability policy to address risks specific to your industry.
o Additional Insured – This endorsement allows you to add an additional party to your insurance policy such as a landlord, general contractor, or customer.
o Contractual Liability – This endorsement provides coverage for you or your business when you become contractually liable as a result of a written or verbal agreement.
o Products-Completed Operations – This is for your liability arising out of your products or business operations conducted away from your business premises once those operations have been completed or abandoned.
o Employee Benefits Liability – This endorsement will provide coverage for if you or found liable errors in administering employee benefits.
Commercial General Liability coverage can typically be purchased as a stand-alone (mono-line), or it can be purchased in a package policy such as the Business Owner’s Policy (BOP).
